How this works: A "36-inch" freestanding fridge is really about 35.75″ wide, and its doors are several inches thick, so a "perfect" 36″ opening forces the unit to sit proud and can bind the doors. Enter any of cabinet width, height, or depth; leave a box blank and it's treated as no limit, and a blank depth assumes standard 24″ cabinets. In a 24″ cabinet a counter-depth freestanding unit sits a few inches proud and a built-in gives the "Classic" proud look; a true flush inset wants 25″ cabinets. This tool applies those real-world clearances (including the 110° swing you need for full drawer access) so a clean measurement doesn't lead to a dysfunctional kitchen. Always confirm final numbers against the manufacturer's spec sheet before you order.
