Dishwasher Fit Calculator

The most common dishwasher disaster is height: new floors go in, and suddenly the old opening is a quarter inch too short. Measure, tell me, and I'll sort it.

The corner dishwasher, drawn before it ruins a drawer.

Top-down view. A dishwasher door and handle sit proud of the cabinet face. Put the unit tight to a corner and the drawer on the perpendicular run has to travel through that handle to open.

WALL corner run (24″ deep) counter face (24″) 24″ DISHWASHER handle ~2-3″ proud corner drawer travel COLLISION

The shaded zone is the collision. The rule of thumb from the showroom floor: leave at least a 2-3″ filler between a dishwasher and a corner, more if the handle is a pro-style bar.

TYPICAL DIMENSIONS · VERIFY THE MODEL'S INSTALL SHEET
How this works: Standard dishwashers want a 24-inch wide opening and roughly 34 inches of height to the finished floor; ADA-height models cover shorter openings. New flooring installed after the dishwasher shrinks the opening by exactly its thickness, which is how units get trapped. Always confirm final numbers against the manufacturer's installation guide before you order.
